Dear Parents,
It is going to be my pleasure to have your child in class this semester. I am looking forward to the coming semester and believe with the help of my students, it will be a successful experience for all of us. I am requesting your help in encouraging your son or daughter to do his or her best academically and to conduct him or herself in a positive manner.
I feel strongly that a student should be in class every day. New concepts are easier to grasp when the student is present to hear the explanation of new material. Mathematics is a building course and thus depends on previous work. When your child is absent, he/she must make up work; I will be available after school from 2:30 to 3:30 for anyone who needs additional help. ILT time is also available each school day for students needing remediation. I will post tutoring days each Friday or Monday so that students can make transportation arrangements.
I realize that many of my students will be involved in extracurricular activities; however, it is my firm belief that the student’s first responsibility should be his or her academic work and should be their top priority. If your student is having difficultly please seek help immediately after school before the situation goes to far.
I am excited about the school districts move toward the use of technology. I realize that this is a transition that we will need to be gentle with, but please understand how important this change is your child’s education.
Please feel free to call or email me with any concerns you have at 704-279-5232 ext. 212 or email at [email protected]. I appreciate your cooperation in making this a successful semester for you student.
Sincerely,
Jamie Deutsch
